| The Burn Unit supports a Burn Fellowship lasting 12 months. The fellowship is clinical involving all aspects of burn care including:
- resuscitation
- critical care management
- early debridement and grafting
- flap coverage of wounds and late reconstruction.
Patients are managed by the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
THE ART & SCIENCE OF BURN SURGERY
This program is designed to provide a multidisciplinary exposure to the art and science of burn surgery. We are seeking ambitious surgeons with a minimum of three years of residency training and a commitment for training completion. The clinical portion of the fellowship involves all aspects of burn surgery including resuscitation, acute operative care, and reconstructive operations. The research opportunities include aspects of active research in resuscitation and wound healing.
The Evans-Haynes Burn Center at VCU Medical Center is the oldest Burn Center in the United States.
